Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Karrenbauer is Vice President of INSIGHT, Inc., the leading developer of logistical solutions and software for top global firms. His expertise includes the:

  • Models for optimization and simulation, both development and use;
  • Analysis of complex supply chains and integrated logistical systems;
  • Data gathering and validation techniques that support complex analyses; and
  • User-friendly interfaces for management support systems.

Using proprietary optimization software, the "X-Systemª," INSIGHT develops strategic supply chain tools, tactical and operational transportation systems, production planning and custom decision support capabilities for top global companies. Clients, such as Exxon/Mobil, BP/Amoco, Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, and Ingram Books, leading distributor for Amazon, rely on INSIGHT for the very greatest competitive advantages gained from logistical optimization.

He earned his B.B.A. in marketing from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in business logistics from The Ohio State University. He conducted extensive research in the area of shipment planning policies and their effects on transportation costs, inventory costs, and customer service. Dr. Karrenbauer published papers in physical distribution journals and serves on the editorial review board of several logistics journals. He makes numerous presentations to conferences for logisticians and management scientists and is a regular guest lecturer in the undergraduate and graduate logistics programs at many universities.
