James W. Caruso, founder/CEO Biography Mr. Caruso is an executive manager of venture development, sales, and functional areas with a global record of achievement identifying key decision-makers, and leading teams to sales and partnerships in new media, telecommunications, and computing. He successfully conceived, structured, and won complex, profitable deals of greater than $100 million. He promoted and/or sold to hot tech companies, such as Aether (IPO), InterVu (acquired by Akamai), Eircom (IPO), Merlot Communications (pre-IPO), iMedeon (pre-IPO), PowerTV (pre-IPO), and FaxNet (acquired). These ventures are leaders in web-based solutions, telecom equipment, Internet Protocol (IP) telephony, interactive digital cable, streaming media, wireless data, and convergence. He managed direct sales and partnering that won deals with Alltel, Bell Atlantic, British Telecom, GTE, Hong Kong Telecom, MCI, Siemens, Sprint, US West, and in Australia, Belgium, China, Finland, France, India, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Philippines, Sweden, and Thailand. He has spoken to audiences of executive and functional managers in telecom finance, engineering, IT, marketing, worldwide. Development methodology and market understanding make him effective in development life cycle and release to market on time at target cost. Establishes effective relationships at all levels of an organization. Jim is founder/CEO of Telecom Alley, Inc., a venture development and investment firm. He is a founder and chair of start-up WirelessVertical.com, Inc.; a founder of an unnamed start-up in mobile/wireless web advertising; and a director of High Meadows School & Camp. In 1990, he founded Infrastructure Data Management International, which won business on 4 continents, and in 1999 acquired MediaFirst PR Ð Atlanta. He began his career in engineering and sales at IBM. Mr. Caruso held executive positions at Scientific-Atlanta in global sales and business development from 1994-1997.
