Don't Employ These Tricks on Your Company Facebook Page

Social Media is one of the best marketing tools you can use for your business. Using Facebook for your business is one of the more popular ways that consumers can become connected with your company, however, there are certain things you can be doing that are actually hurting your business rather than helping.

Here are a few things that you will want to avoid doing when using Facebook:

  • You may have heard or seen that adding a link to your status will prevent your status from being seen by all your followers. It would seem there is not too much truth to this and may actually prevent your followers  from clicking on the links you post.
  • When it comes to tagging people you certainly don't want to use this tool too much, especially when it comes to tagging people that are not relevant to the status or update. This will seem like spam to those you are tagging and can help you to lose followers very quickly.
  • Overuse of a #hashtag can be a deterrent for those following your posts. They also reduce the chances of your posts going viral.
  • Trying to bait people to like your status just to see the likes and comments hurts your brand. In place of asking questions about random topics, use content that is relevant to your brand and that your fans and followers will enjoy.
